Employee inventions, patents and designs require separate control of disclosure, employer claims, remuneration, novelty and public-release dates.
Employee invention notice
The employee should promptly describe the technical problem, solution, contributors and connection with the job in writing. Full or partial employer claims and free-invention treatment follow the statute and regulation.
Remuneration and contribution
Economic value, the employee's duties, resources supplied by the business and personal contribution may affect reasonable remuneration. Filing a patent application does not by itself settle compensation.
Novelty and filing strategy
A fair, proposal, thesis, web post or customer presentation before filing can affect novelty. Review under confidentiality and align Turkish, PCT or national filings with market and cost plans.
Keep design protection distinct
Appearance may qualify for design protection, a technical solution for patent or utility model protection, and a name or sign for trade mark protection. Ownership and disclosure dates require separate analysis.
